The NY44 Award
The NY44 Award was established to recognize individuals that have supported the efforts of the Health Trust. The individuals chosen to receive this award have shown a level of commitment and dedication that has helped drive the successful growth of the Health Trust. The award is presented at the Friends of NY44 Health Benefits Plan Inc. golf tournament dinner.
Lynne Olewine, president of Pharmacy Benefit Dimensions, is the recipient of the 2017 NY44 Award from the NY44 Health Benefit Plan Trust. In her role of partnering with the NY44, Lynne and her team have worked to help develop a comprehensive pharmacy plan for all NY44 enrollees. Her expertise in the field and her proactive attitude have allowed the Trust to meet its goals in providing pharmacy coverage to all enrollees.
Laura Hirsch, president of Nova
Healthcare Administrators, is the recipient of the 2016 NY44 Award from the
NY44 Health Benefit Plan Trust. In her role partnering with the NY44 Health
Trust, she has presented and implemented new initiatives that have continually
supported the Trust’s cost containment strategies. She provides a high degree
of personal service and attention, working collaboratively to help the NY44
Health Trust meet its goals.
For more than 20
years, Hirsch has assisted clients in the management of their self-funded
health plans. She currently oversees the aligned Independent Health and Nova

Peter Mye, a senior vice president and resident manager of Morgan Stanley’s Rochester office, is the recipient of the 2015 NY44 Award. In his role of providing investment advice to the NY44 Health Benefits Plan Trust, Mye has continually provided the necessary information and support for the Health Trust to develop a customized investment plan designed to meet its long-term goals. He frequently travels from his Rochester office to report on and explain investments to the NY44 Board of Trustees during board meetings, as well as attends the annual meetings. His high level of interest and attention has helped build a strong working relationship with the Health Trust.
Mye, a 28-year industry veteran, has long been involved in volunteer and charity work in his community supporting the Boy Scouts of America, Flower City Habitat for Humanity/Leaders Build, United Way, and the American Heart Association’s Heart Ball.
The recipient of the NY44 award in 2014 is Jim Murphy, president of JB Murphy Associates, for his work on behalf of the NY44 Health Benefits Plan Trust.
Jim worked closely with the NY44 Trust to to provide guidance on issues of stop loss coverage.
Jill Toth, a resident of Amherst and a Client Account Specialist for Independent Health Self-Funded Services (Nova), was the recipient of the 2013 NY44 Award.
In her role at Independent Health, Toth was instrumental in collaborating with the Trust to develop health benefit plan options for schools in WNY. She worked conscientiously to ensure communication and cooperation between the staff at Independent Health and service providers for the NY44 Trust. She also ensured appropriate implementation of claims payments for the benefits provided to the Trust members. She always provided service with a smile. Jill's pleasant personality assisted everyone with the growth of the NY44 Trust. Over the years, she continues to provide guidance and direction on operational matters on a proactive basis. She has truly been an asset to the staff and members of the Trust supporting the successful growth of the Trust since 2008.
In his role at MVP Health Care as Director of Sales, Labor, Wild was instrumental in collaborating with the NY44 Health Trust to develop health benefit plan options for several school districts in the eastern part of the state. In his previous role at Independent Health, he was instrumental in gaining management support to implement the partnership for the NY 44 Health Benefits Plan Trust (previously known as the Erie 1 BOCES Plan Trust) initiative. He has been a key player in the implementation of claims payments for the Trust for the past 10 years.
Joel Marinaccio, account manager at Independent Health, was the recipient of the 2011 award. Joel was instrumental in collaborating with the Trust when it began strategizing plan options and has provided the necessary support to allow the Trust to accomplish its goals.
Thomas Pomidoro, claims analyst for the Health Trust, was the recipient of the first award in 2010. He has worked with the Trust since its inception in 2003 and remains instrumental in its current success.
